Vatulele is a beautiful island resort situated in Clovelly, in New South Wales region of Australia. It is among the most romantic places to visit when considering spending intimate time with your special someone. Vatulele offers luxury and privacy at the same time. The fact that Vatulele island resort is globally acknowledged as the forerunner of all exclusive bare-foot resorts in the world tells how pampered guests feel here. No wonder it is called the perfect tropical destination.
This world-class island resort was the vision of Emmy-award winning Australian television producer Henry Crawford. Also with him was Martin Livingston, a fifth generation European Fijian hotelier. Vatulele was named Fiji’s top resort in the 2005 AAA Tourism Awards. That means that high standards of service, décor, dedication to eco-tourism and exceptional comforts and conveniences will be offered to the guests.
Vatulele is 25 minutes by light aircraft or helicopter from Nadi International Airport, Fiji. It has been visited more by career-minded couples. Weddings here are almost akin to eloping as it is so nicely cut off from the world and its disturbances. The privacy of secluded beaches and stunning shorelines make great photographs and albums.
Generally the wedding service on Vatulele island resort is held on the beach at sunset, in a church. The church has doors and window frames made of plaited coconut leaves and flowers and traditionally dressed Fijian warriors accompany the bride on a barge trip across the lagoon. Fijian children toss flower petals in the sand as the bride is carried ashore to take her vows. A village choir croons and make your wedding very rustic and very special. The vows are solemnized by a Fijian minister and ceremonies are limited to only three a month at Vatulele with all guests treated to champagne toasts. Not to forget there is the traditional Kava ceremony, which is a native feast cooked in pits in the ground, followed by genuine ceremonial dances.
Vatulele island resort stands up to its name for high standards of service and yet very rural atmosphere.
